In this Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 photo, Sushma Verma, 13-year-old Indian girl reads inside her house in Lucknow, India.

In a country where many girls are still discouraged from going to school, Sushma Verma is having anything but a typical childhood.

The 13-year-old girl from a poor family in north India has enrolled in a master’s degree in microbiology, after her father sold his land to pay for some of his daughter’s tuition in the hope of catapulting her into India’s growing middle class.

Verma finished high school at 7 and earned an undergraduate degree at age 13 — milestones she said were possible only with the sacrifices and encouragement of her uneducated and impoverished parents.

The 2004 American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino flaunted her sexy body on the beach in Barbados, and was seen twerking for the cameras. See pics after the cut:

Fight breaks out at House of Reps as new PDP meets lawmakers

A meeting between the seven governors of the new Peoples Democratic Party faction, and members of the House of Representatives has ended after fighting broke out.

The governors, alongside the chairman of the faction, Abubakar Baraje, met first with senate president, David Mark. A follow up meeting at the House of Representatives with Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and members of the House, degenerated into chaos with supporters of the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP jeering at remarks made by Mr Baraje.

The Entertainment industry has gotten a new product for viewers delight. Seaside Entertainment Company, the firm managing I Go Dye has released I Go Dye's New Comedy DVD, The Game Changer to Obino who they said bought it for N15million. It is currently marketed across Nigeria and Africa.

BBA winner Dilish gets brand new car as birthday gift from boyfriend

Dillish Pearl Munroe, the winner of the recently concluded Big Brother Africa The Chase celebrated her birthday yesterday and her family and friends came out to celebrate with her. Gunman kills 12 and injures 15 at Washinton Navy Yard rampage

Aaron Alexis (pictured right), opened fire and killed 12 people this morning Monday September 16th at the Washington Naval Yard in Washington DC before being shot and killed by responding officers. The 34-year-old who worked as a civilian I.T contractor at the military base, entered the complex's cafeteria around 8.30am brandishing an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, shotgun and handgun and began shooting. It is thought that he used another employee of the base's identification card to gain entry to the heavily secured Building 197, where he carried out his deadly attack. Aaron killed 12 people and injured at least 15, who are all in critical conditions.

The young lady who, all her life, believed she was a Namibian, only got to know that her real father was a retired Kenyan military officer who got her mother pregnant during a peace keeping mission.

Arik Flight En Rute London, Makes Emergency Landing As Nigerian Woman Gives Birth On Board

An Arik Air flight with over 100 passengers en route to London Sunday was forced to make an emergency landing in Palmas, Spain, as a woman went into labour and gave birth while the aircraft was airborne.The pilot was said to have requested the emergency landing on the advice of two doctors who were on board the aircraft and had helped the mother deliver the baby.

Her name is Andrea Manuela Giaccaglia. She is the advertising executive who has captured Banky W's heart. Looking at the picture below, it is obvious why this Ghanaian lady has taken over every single space of our own Banky's heart... See below:

Exactly 21 days after Akintunde Omotehinde, a 21-year-old man reportedly raped his 60-year-old mother at Ajebamidele area of Ado Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti State, residents of the area are still in shock over the incident.
Although the Omotehinde family kept mute over the issue, some people in the neighbourhood said they heard about the incident.
Speaking to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, some residents, said rape was not a common occurrence in the locality.
