Former Libyan Leader Mouammar Gaddafi’s sprawling home in Tripoli, Bab Al-Aziziya, will be transformed into an amusement park under arrangements proclaimed on Tuesday by the tourism minister.”The work to gather up the rubble from the remnants of Bab Al-Aziziya, which was a dark spot in Tripoli and a wellspring of concern for inhabitants, has started,” the tourism minister Ikram Basha Imam said.
“This space will be changed into a green zone and amusement park to be used Libyan families,” she said.
Bab Al-Aziziya was intensely sustained throughout Gaddafi’s 42 years of iron-fisted rule, yet was crushed by NATO air attacks and a rebel strike that arrived at the Libyan capital on 20 August 2011.
The site was pillaged and home by squatters.
In August 2012, Prime Minister Abdelrahim Al-Kib published plans to build a library, theatre and a landmark to saints of the clash on the site.
Be that as it may that task was consequently relinquished in favour of an open park.
The tourism minister said eight privately owned businesses had been invited to contruct the new park.
